Forum Introduction

From October 14 to 20, 2024, the 2024 Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital Single-port Bariatric Surgery Forum was grandly held in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. The forum is divided into two parts: October 14-18 is an online live broadcast of surgery, and October 20 is an offline academic conference.

 

With the development of bariatric metabolic surgery technology, single-port bariatric surgery can achieve the goal of weight loss and blood sugar reduction while better meeting the patient's aesthetic and privacy needs. Therefore, it has attracted increasing attention and has developed rapidly in recent years. The 2024 Nanjing Gulou Hospital Single-port Bariatric Surgery Forum aims to build an academic exchange platform, invite experts and scholars from all over the country to participate in discussions, share the latest research results, and jointly promote the development of single-port bariatric surgery technology.

Live surgery

During the live surgery session from October 14 to 18, the expert teams from the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the East China Hospital of Fudan University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, and Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital respectively performed live single-port laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy surgeries. Among them, the expert teams from the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, and Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital used the domestic innovative product Vidasis SIS Stapleline Reinforcement in the live surgery.

At the offline academic conference on October 20, more than 30 experts in the field of weight loss and metabolism from major hospitals across the country attended the meeting to share and discuss the topic of single-port weight loss surgery.

 

As leaders in the field of weight loss and metabolism, the speakers shared the operating techniques, challenges and coping strategies of single-port sleeve gastrectomy based on their rich clinical surgical experience. They also conducted a systematic and comprehensive comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of single-port, double-port and triple-port sleeve gastrectomy, and discussed the difficulties and pain points encountered in single-port sleeve gastrectomy.
